One in three Australians will require blood or blood products in their lifetime and one blood donation can save up to three lives. However, of the age-eligible Australian population, only 3.5% donate blood or blood products. Australians aged between 18 and 24 represent about 13% of these donors – a fraction of those donors aged between 25-44 (31%) and 45-64 (45%).
With a mind to increase and retain this participation rate, Young Blood provides information on blood, donating blood and relevant news in order to raise awareness of the need for donors. We encourage young Australians to make the decision to become blood donors, and do a bloody good deed.
We encourage fruitful sharing and discussion on our pages however, please be aware that all contributions are reviewed and any content deemed offensive will be removed. If you have any questions about the campaign, please contact Maya and Karri at firstname.lastname@example.org
